They have a corporate charter that doesn’t talk about the members or God because it deals with legal issues. Rendering unto Caesar what is Caesar’s, so to speak. Weird topic to use to discredit people of faith…
For that matter, why can’t non-believer’s let believers alone? If they don’t believe in God, then what does it matter if there is a Nativity scene on “public” property? Just another issue of officious, pissy little people.
Oh, and SherlockWatson, you should probably change your handle to ElmerBozo. We’re here in Iraq for oil? How has the capture of all these oil wells worked out for us? Oh, the “oil buddies” of Bush and Cheney were going to make out big? Apparently you need to keep up on the news. When the Iraqis sold their oil rights a couple years ago, the Chinese were the ones who bought them.
JRBJ, you should really become educated before blowing off your mouth. I am currently in Iraq teaching their various police agencies how to use forensic techniques. We use every means possible to respect their culture and have even gone so far in returning autonomy to their own government (that often acts in ways we wish they wouldn’t) that it severely restricts our ability to move and even our safety.
And the fact that we are stabilizing their country and have removed a madman and his even madder progeny means that this region of the world WILL become more stable. If that means I have to give up several years of my life at home, so be it if it means my son does not have to be here 20 years from now.
This arc is one of my all time favorites! When Steve gets zapped by the photo-pigmentizer, hoohoo!
