Nothing “nowadays” about it; my relatives took Polaroid shots back in the day. Looking through albums now have creepy pages… reminds me of an Addams Family scenario.
Sam’s ever-present cigarette IS a part of his character. Can you imagine him without access to a cigarette for half a day and how his reactions to a situation would be different than if he had one? Until we develop smell-a-round, though, we’ll have just imagine the ever-present aroma of stale smoke he permeates… and is utterly clueless of. That is part of his character, too.
After his first few attempts to dress himself decades ago and hearing “is that what you’re wearing?”, I’m sure he resigned himself to sleeping in an extra 15 minutes while his new personal dresser laid out his uniform of the day. Probably learned the right answer to “does this dress make me look fat?” early on, too. (Answer: “No, dear, the DRESS does not make you look fat.”)
Always one of my fave comic strips! By the by, the chair cover should be “Its”, not “It’s” — His, Hers, Its. Gotta get a set of 3 embroidered one of these days.
Mixed message to me, sorry… they look like “snow angels”, where they lay down in the snow to make the shapes (way to go Aquaman, very tricky) but Green Lantern’s looks like “snow writing” that went wrong. Ewwwww.
Actually, a full length mirror can LOOK like an open door in low light… or minus eye-glasses, if you wear them. Happened to me once. More embarrassing than damaging.
At least he isn’t staring down a Red Bull can.
