The scientific method is the best way we’ve found for that yet.

It’s Jane’s World and that’s the way things go in Jane’s World.

Paige lampshaded it on March 14, 2003

Jane: It seems that there’s a bigger, biological reason that Maggie never noticed me in college …

    Dorrie: No way!

    Jane: Yep.

Dorrie: Really! I would never have guessed!

    Jane: Crazy, huh?

Dorrie: A straight girl !?! In this place …

Jane: I know … It’s getting harder and harder to spot them …

    Dorrie: Wow …

And we’re onto the correct sequencing and the new(er) comics. This time we’ll go through the end of the Hooters storyline and then pick up the mountain biking storyline from the beginning instead of jumping in right at the end.

(Paige had some troubles with the sequencing in the original run. After the sequence had run messed up for a while, she restarted and got them properly sequenced. We’ve just been going through it exactly as it went in the original run.)

This is the turning point in the strip sequencing. We were at this same point back on October 16, 2023 and then the sequencing was messed up and we missed the end of the Hooters storyline and the beginning of the mountain biking one.

If Monday’s strip is at the garage, then we’re at the same point we were on October 17, 2023, with the messed up sequencing.

If Monday’s strip is back at Hooters, then the sequencing is corrected and we’re back to new(er) stuff.

I’m confident we’ll be at Hooters Monday.

(The same thing happened in the original GoComics run and we’re going through it in exactly the same sequencing as then. First the messed up sequencing, then Paige patching it up and getting it back on track, followed by moving back to finish up the Hooters story.)

Jill is in “Jane’s World”. She gets some interesting poses also.

And, unlike last October when we went through the messed up strip sequencing, we will go back to Hooters and then we’ll complete the messed up storylines. Coming up here very shortly.

Well, yeah. I was hoping that the sequencing would get patched up for the re-run, but I imagine that would take a lot of work. It’s been many years since “Jane’s World” on GoComics has been a priority for Paige, especially once she wrapped it all up. Few artists pay any attention to their strips in re-run. Lynn Johnston is very unusual that way. I’m sure Paige has better things to do with her time, with all her other projects.

Apparently you mistake me for someone who cares if you stick around or not.

I’m here because I still enjoy Jane for the 4th (or more) time. I remember this sequencing mess up from the first time around. Paige provided some explanation and commentary back then. I wondered if the re-run would straighten it out, but we’re going through it in exactly the same messed-up sequence as back then. If you want to avoid the sequencing problem, I suggest buying the books.

Yes. Give us a couple more weeks and we’ll be to the new stuff that got skipped last time around.

  10. about 1 month ago on Skin Horse

If you start at the beginning and read through the whole thing … you’ll still never understand what’s going on. If you read through a second time from the beginning, you might start to understand what’s going on. I’m still trying to see if that’s true.
