I really wish this website would do message threads, like we used to have back in Usenet. After about 10 messages it got quite hard to keep track of which conversation the next message was part of.

Those electric unicycles are hilarious. I can’t look at anyone using one without thinking of Thor from Hart’s B.C. striplinks to a couple of pics to show what I mean:https://johnhartstudios.com/meet-the-actors/thor/http://nmmc.net/Blog_Resources/Images/BC_Wheels.jpg

“made” is a strong word. “Sold”. Under license.

Someone else has heard of the Victor 9000! My first “real” computer — the first one that wasn’t a single 2nd hand PCB with components that I soldered on by hand — was a Victor 9000 that I got in a liquidation sale from some company that went under. Lovely machine with features that were innovative at the time… I had seen the ACT Sirius 1 (same electronics but a much more stylish case), hadn’t thought I would ever be able to afford something like that. Obsolescence brought it to my price range, but meant that the RAM board that I designed for it and any code that I wrote on it, was no longer of interest to anyone that mattered :( Must have learned something from it though; only a few decades later I can afford any computer I might want… and not just because I don’t much care about computers any more :)

@lance — you must be the same side of the pond as me! Apparently Sir Clive got Timex to market his computers in the overpuddlian territories.

@Geophyzz: “I believe the point is that we should forgive our wives for anything except fornication” — no, there is no permission to withhold forgiveness. “Seventy times seven” is meant as “unlimited”. In Matt 5:31, if the divorce is because of adultery then the perpetrator cannot become an adulterer, because they are one already.

For those not living in the US, Juul is just a brand of e-cigarette, but one that is compact enough, and looks enough like a flash drive when charging, to be inconspicuous when students are in class.

Apparently because e-cigarette vapour is less intense than cigarette smoke, people inhale it more deeply so it does more harm. When I was little, maybe 40 years ago, people said the same about cigarettes – people inhale more than with cigars or pipes so they’d kill you. Maybe people should just go back to Sherlock Holmes style pipes, or something even more complicated, so it’s too much hassle to use it often. (As a non-[active-]smoker, I also prefer the smell.)

@Shiva: I think the first panel complains about Cho writing too small. Or maybe it says “GoComics can’t be bothered scanning this at an adequate resolution”. But at least on the website it’s a better resolution than what they sent in the email.

Would be great if these were scanned at a resolution that left them legible. But at least the web version is a lot clearer than what I got in the email.

Wish I could afford enough space to have an orchard.
