   In 1969 on vacation I drove from Illinois to New York. I stopped in Massachusetts, where Isaac Asimov resided at that time. I called him on his home telephone (he was listed in the public telephone book!) and asked him if he would sign the “Foundation” series books for me. He did. I met him outside his house, he signed the books (obviously, I still have them), and we had an enjoyable conversation. He was a brilliant gentleman.

   I wish you a speedy recovery. I’m recovering from brain tumor surgery (the doctor let me keep my brain) last July, so I have sincere sympathy for you.

   About a week after the brain surgery (which went quite well) I developed pneumonia, was in sepsis (104° F), got COVID-19 (shots current), then had bladder failure, and again pneumonia. I fooled many people…I’m still here!
