I love the picture of “Safe Six Man”. with both arms spread out. American measurements are based on the human body (like the biblical cubits) an inch is the width of a man’s thumb, a foot is, well, that should be obvious, a yard is from the tip of the nose to the tip of the finger on an outstretched arm. Both arms will give you 2 yards, or 6 feet. So if you think someone is standing to close, just stretch those arms out kiddos. I think the 2 arm stretch is also a nautical measurement called a knot.
