If the husband had to think up 3 meals a day, every day of their married life, I bet he’d like to go out to eat once in a while. I’ve been married over 55 years, and that’s more than 52 thousand meals. Yes, it is nice to go out to eat. Someone to wait on you, clean everything up.

I’m inclined to agree with Nelly. “Something was planned, the plan went agley. We are NOT going to talk about it.”

lakesnake, there certainly is a problem with any woman who would marry pouncingtiger or Grog.

scrabblefiend, back in the day when my mom did the housewife thing, she thought up 1 meal per day, averaging 13 every 2 weeks – dinner out averaged once per week, and she didn’t plan & execute lunch, or breakfast more than once per fortnight (those were the cold cereal or sandwich meals, mostly).

I can cook fairly well, though my kids used to accuse me of too many taco nights when growing up. and my wife doesn’t eat my cooking today if she doesn’t want to, not because I don’t fix something.

I really didn’t know there were many of these sit-com husbands left who couldn’t fix a meal or listen to their wives complaints and act on them. Both sides of this conversation explain the 50% divorce rate.

Thank you, tedcoop. I wouldn’t have it any other way. I live my life my way. It’s my way or the highway.
