Woman: So when you told the cement guy that if he didn't get out here by Wednesday you'd give the job to somebody else, what did he say? Man: He said ok. Woman: Ok, he'll be here, or ok, who cares? Man: Hmmm. Good question.
The BBB is a protection racket. When I was president of the Texas Consumers Association, we sent copies of all our complaints to the BBB as well as to a law professor member for his students to work on. We would check back in a couple of weeks. If the offending company was a member, we would always get “we have no complaints against them.” With one car dealer, this reached 87 complaints over one year, but a clear record according to BBB. The dealer’s manufacturer wouldn’t do anything either.
