Back in the early 60’s my Mom was having a bubble bath on Mother’s Day when my older brother came home with blood spewing from his foot. A snapping turtle had bit his big toe. Mom had to get out of the tub and take him to get stitches. A few years later on another Mother’s Day my older brother and I both got injured playing in a trash dump. My brother required stitches in his knee and I needed them in my foot. We knew how to make her feel needed.
