My sister in law works at a store that has no chairs. They have to kneel to use the computer. Wonderful working conditions.

The Golden Vertical Integration Plan. Mid 20th century essayist, Harry Golden, contended that the South was always integrated. Races stood together at bus stops, in lines at the bank, etc.; it was only when they sat down that there were any problems. Therefore, take out the desks and put in the stand-up desks and schools could be integrated with no problems.

I saw this in actual use to integrate lunch counters in the downtown Dallas department stores. They took out the tables and chairs and build a shelf around the room, where customers could place their food while standing there eating and facing a blank wall. It worked and the customers never noticed. One exception – Nieman Marcus had always been integrated.
