It’s an acronym for the French that means we’d like you to tell us if you’re coming, but since you’re one of our friends and therefore a boob, we figure you won’t answer but will come anyway, so we’ll probably have food left over, you putz.
I was told it stood for “respond so very promptly.” It doesn’t.
