We were in the Berkshires one summer. Entering a valley, we thought we were driving into a twinkling cloud. Millions of fireflies were rising like mist from the grass.
I see a few fireflies every summer, but never more than two or three at a time. No chance of getting a jarful! And quite often I see one lonely guy flying around by himself, getting no reply to his frantic flashes…

Love this strip. “Fireflies” are one of the things that I miss from back east :-)

Fun strip today. I have great memories of fireflies from when I was growing up in North Dakota.

One thing I’ve missed out on, I’ve never actually seen a lightning bug.

Check out today’s “Zack Hill” for another firefly themed comic. Nowhere near as fun as this one, though more realistic.
