Does that make this a second-string kite?

No. It’ll go directly to a kite-eating tree or some water.

Used string is to be used carefully.

my uncle would put aluminum foil on his Box kites so Michael McCoy Airforce Base would send out a heliocopter to tell him to take down out of the RADAR image

Wow! For you 1966 was the year of living dangerously…

neverenoughgoldI had a friend who would do that to a gas-filled bag and chase it as a sports car event. He was stopped by the FAA for what it was doing to Love Field radar.

A kite can’t live in captivity forever. At some point it has to be released back into the wild.

Red, ya need to look that kite over carefully, wet a finger & hold it to the wind, and choose your string like a fly fisherman.
