Had a couple of vinyl beanbag chairs back in the day. Our cat peed in them occasionally. Discovering it “the hard way” was disagreeable. We don’t do cats anymore.
I got two kittens from the local shelter, one six months older than the other. The younger cat thought the older was his personal pillow and persisted in that belief even when they grew to be adult cats.

The cat always knew when I’d had a rough day and would let me use her for a pillow. The purr was soothing.
