Rory: Have you ever flown in a chopper, Mr. Haywire?
Rip: Frequently! Though I'm usually tied up and then thrown out of them!
Rory: Well, don't worry, I'll teach you how to land one properly. Ha ha.
Rip: Killjoy.
You are mostly correct. Hughes did design and produce the initial 500’s. They were then bought by McDonnell-Douglas. The helicopter division was then spun off as it’s own company, MD Helicopters. (Boeing might have been in there some where, they got the Apaches.) The Hughes 500 had the V-Tails, since then they have a T-Tail, which Mr. Thompson used. Then there are the NOTARs. They produce both the military and civilian versions, all impressive. Boeing is using them to develop an unmanned version for the military. I prefer the NOTARs. The 500N and 600N are both nice. Sorry, I’m a bit of a geek in the this area… All the best, Happy New Year!

Frying is a lot of fun, just not helicopters, those are like flying washing machines.

He’s learning to fly in a MD-500, a “sports car” helicopter, and learning to land before learning to hover. Where’s the safety in that? Enjoy Rip.

Rip will crash on purpose, just for the fun of it.

@Peabody-MartiniYes, frying is a lot of fun. Especially frogs’ legs. They jump while frying. Really!
