cool! mine those asteroids. with luck he’ll make enough to break even or go broke. but if he’s successful the world price of gold plummits and financial systems based on gold collapse. maybe the total value remains the same but we can pave roads with it.

It wouldn’t be cost effective to mine for anything on an asteroid.

The only way asteroid mining would be cost-effective is if there was a shortage of minerals on Terra, justifying the short- and long-term expenses involved in the activity. Check back in 200 years (if humanity still exists then) to see if we’ve started doing that yet.

I read about this. The plan to is to tow the asteroids into orbit about the moon and then mine them. Too costly for one thing and just thing if one gets lost and hits Earth.
