Rip’s first oddities cartoon (“Champs and Chumps”) asked the question, “Remember The Chap Who Walked Backward Across the Continent?”. He never said who it was, but my guess is that it was Mr. Livermanne’s great-grandfather!

The left handed thing is based on a flawed study that noted that the number of older people who are left handed is less than the number of young people who are left handed. It turns out that if you are older you were likely trained at a young age to be right handed because being left handed was considered wrong.

I am right handed, but found out when I was a teenager that I could do anything left handed including write.
