Where did it go?! Thieves stole 79,000 gallons of beer from a warehouse in Krefeld, Germany, in June 2014- equivalent to more than 840,000 12 oz bottles! What do the Atlanta Braves and the Washington Redskins have in common? They were both once called the Boston Branes and made Fenway Park, Boston, their home stadium. The clock face on the 1972 foot tall Abraj Al-Bait Clocktower in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, is 5 times the size of the famous Big Ben clock in London, England.

I’ve seen Big Ben on location, but I’m astounded to its rival!

The Saudis seem to think bigger makes them better. They’re sorely mistaken.

Unfortunately the clock in Mecca seems to be running backwards…

“….. Big Ben is not the name of the tower… Big Ben is the name of the bell…”~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Ripley didn’t say the name of the tower was Big Ben; he said the name if the clock was Big Ben. So.if the name of the bell is Big Ben, what do your call the clock?

Boston Braves played in Braves Field now owned by Boston University. The only time they would play in Fenway Park was during a subway series which never happened.

Unfortunately, Redskins and Braves have other things in common. White man decimate aboriginal tribes, label as savage, then name many sports teams after them and do tomahawk chop. :-(

Aaaarrrrgggghhhh! All you pedants, just stop it!!! The bell is called Big Ben and so is the tower! Just like Frankenstein! His creator was called Frankenstein, and his monster had the same name!

Their clock may be bigger but I’ve never heard of it. Pretty sure most of the Western World knows what Big Ben is.

The Braves did play their home games at the end of the 1914 season in Fenway Park, including two games of their World Series sweep of the Philadelphia Athletics.
