There’s a house near us that the owners abandoned because of spiders.

I like to say, any enemy of a mosquito is a friend of mine.

5. Sweeping up the ashes after the fire is out.

We found a big one in the downstairs sink last month — all curled up and stiff. It must have fallen in and couldn’t get out.And because we don’t use that sink much we didn’t find it until it was too late.So sad.

My favorite was a longleg spider that took up residence behind the upstairs sink.I’d feed it little ants that got in the house.When I dropped an ant anywhere near its rather pitiful webwork, it would jump to attention and go run and get the ant and wind it up.So cute.Then one day it disappeared — probably went looking for a mate and got eaten.

You missed cleaning the fire box, cleaning the chimney, hauling cold ashes to the garbage & paying the increased fire insurance… :-)

Love spiders, snakes, scorpions and fires. I just hate splitting the wood by hand, so I own a hydraulic splitter. Heh, yeah, standing next to the engine running could warm you up I guess…
