The squirrels do this to our granddog when she’s visiting. Before I let her out I always make lots of noise opening the door to give the outdoor critters a fair warning.

My mother used to sit our canary’s cage in front of a picture window. The cat would sit outside on the windowsill and glare at the bird, and the bird would scold and fuss. The cat knew he wasn’t allowed to harass the bird in the house, but was immune when on the windowsill. He never tried to harm the bird, but loved to harass him.

He’ll be inside until his owner comes home from work and throws him out to’ do his business’.

We had a bunny in the neighborhood that understood that a dog on a chain couldn’t attack. It would just sit there, retain grass and leaves, not caring, while the dog was screaming, “Help! Help! A horrible, terrible bunny, come to murder us all!”
