Nothing said “in chambers” is what it seems.What she actually said was that it was the safe word. When that word is used seriously, the current actions of the party in the dominant position would be discontinued.The same is true today. Impeachment is still the safe word, but as long as the public isn’t crying out in a majority sufficient to assure power to whoever follows the public outcry, it will remain unused.Abuse of power has become a way of life in politics.We could not have had the 1800s without that being true.People who look at the modern world and think it is all new and unusual are merely ignorant of history.
