Gary should be talking in the past tense: “It was nice to have met you.”
Leopold has an unusual way of greeting neighbors. Which is why they don’t have them too long..

I don’t see why Leo always complains about the ‘burbs; I bet he didn’t get this much to eat when they were living in a castle in the middle of nowhere.
