Before Serrated knifes my father had a bread knife with baby teeth almost like a hacksaw blade.

My favorite serrated bread knife was purchased at the Dollar Store years ago and works (and keeps working) amazingly well. Never saw a need for an expensive bread knife as long as I have this one.
