Okay, I get the reference, but I don’t get the parody.

Thanks for the comments. I wanted to pick a thing - any thing - that everyone was faniliar with, besides “Gin Joints” for Rick /Bogie to be brooding in. But it had to be comprised of multiple things .For example, fifty states, etc. But the more bizarre, the better.( I guess ).

So the fact that it’s a letter of the alphabet doesn’t have any special significance. I used a letter so Rick could be brooding and saying “twenty six letters in the alphabet, and …” This is a better explanation than I have for SOME of em, folks.

It was great, John. Now, there are quite a few other classic movie lines…

The problem with that place is if you want a drink, in have to wait in the queue…

Assuming bueller is John Deering: Thanks for commenting! I know a lot of artists resist talking about their work, but I’m always interested in what was behind a piece. Whether I don’t get a particular panel or it’s crystal clear, even though it stands on its own, it’s still cool to get a view behind the process.

I started commenting around early September -quite a bit over in the editorial cartoon section - to answer questions about my own cartoons and reply to comments, etc. I’m enjoying it, and the direct feedback is great.

I do generally think cartoons should speak for themselves, but I think it may be more useful for my own creative process to discuss some of these. I think it really is an unusual process because it is a sort of hybrid of both drawing and writing.

Well, they’ll always have Qala’at_Mgouna…..
