I wouldn’t call “Beowulf” trash, but it’s “genre” fiction. Swords, monsters, storms at sea, bloody (and drunken) brawls, more monsters…
It’s the 11th Century equivalent of Airplane Literature. J.R.R. Tolkien crossed with Steven King crossed with Mickey Spillane. Good stuff, Maynard.
