Frankly, MLB isn’t much better. More emphasis is put on how fast a guy can throw a ball than whether he can actually pitch. Look at how long it took Jamie Moyer to finally get a fair shot in Seattle to demonstrate that you don’t have to throw a 95 MPH heater to get guys out. Besides, unless you’re Nolan Ryan, the good hitters will be able to eventually time your fastball and drilling it.
