Ah, good—looks like Tarzan is going to get to ditch the brat and get on with more vine-swinging adventure! Can’t say Ito has added anything to the storyline since he’s been around the past few years.

Ito i didnot know. Korac, tarzans son had adventures that to me rivaled tarzans. I read them during kubert and dc comics run at it. They brought romanticism style of writing to his raft adventures.

S0 … October 2012 will mark 100 years of Tarzan in print. Wouldn’t it be nice if the Edgar Rice Burroughs conglomerate would publish a grand collection … books, comics, movies, etc. I would love to see all of Hal Foster’s strips.

Remember the “Brothers Of The Spear” in with the Dell series? Re: the Burroughs Corp. they were always a bit asleep at the switch in exploiting their product and back in the 50s when I would visit their office in Tarzana the only live wire there was ERB’s grand son Danny Burroughs, son of artist Colman Burroughs—I’d see Hulbert around the office too-but they were just content to live off the royalties they were getting from The European market. Danny sadly died of Parkinson’s a few years ago.

John Celardo took over the writing chores about four months ago in this daily Tarzan strip. He had the task of writing out the previous writer’s non ERB elements: the Air Force connection, Nurse Naomi and ITO. He is about halfway there now. At the end of this week Tarzan tells his own story to the family at the ranch. It is a very well done narrative. Get set to enjoy.
