Man, this story cycle would have looked great in color, especially with the jungle and all the animals being used. Yesterdays panel with tarzan standing over the ape with his arms up would have been even better colored.
Quartermain, you cant sleep because you are like the kids in this strip. Anxiously hearing tarzans story! Haha!Actually, its been almost a week since we have seen them. Er, maybe they did go to sleep.
Somehow, Tarzan only encounters solitary male lions, usually in the jungle. In Africa, lions usually occur in prides of 15-20, on the savannas and the females do most of the hunting.
Good morning everyone. It’s not that I am up early, I haven’t gone t sleep yet I made the mistake of listening to a Max Brand cowboy book, the hero his horse and his girl, lots of action and good manners. I don’t work any more and I need to convince myself it’s ok do wild stuff like this, lol.
It’s 5:46am and I’m “late” today! Can’t keep up with you East Coast readers, or Bwana Quartermain these days. Older male lions are usually driven from their prides by younger, stronger males; perhaps that is why we often see Tarzan battling huge solitary males. I strongly doubt Tarzan would be victorious fighting a pride of multiple lioness’s by himself Marc. Brickhouse, if you want to see Tarzan in color, you might try the Joe Kubert Collection by Dark Horse publishers—or as Quartermain would suggest the“Tarzan in Color” series by NBM publishers skillfully drawn by Hal Foster and later Burne Hogarth. Then, there’s Hogarth’s splendid book “Tarzan of The Apes” published by Watson/ Guptill. Oh yes, and good morning tribe mates!
In fairness Burroughs did not restrict Tarzan to the forest. He spent considerable time on the plains/veldte, as well as on the coast. In the books he would leave the ape tribe sometimes for long periods to travel about.

If memory serves me correctly, the boy Tarzan would deliberately tease the Lion just to get him to chase him. Great fun!

I always come in late here. I save Tarzan for last. I will always remember the Weissmuller movie where Jane skinny dips.
