Ok, now it seems to me Celardo is being clever here. The story arc of the Italian owner, white manager and newly educated workers is an analogy for what was happening to Africa in the 1960s. Britain, France, Italy were giving up their colonies to self rule, the whites (leeches?) who had migrated there, even for several generations already, who had been managing the empires, found themselves caught in the middle and abandoned by the head offices in London, Paris, Rome. Trouble is how does a Tarzan fit into the analogy? Does he represent…UN foreign aid? Or maybe just soapy melodrama.

So Simon Leach wasn’t really sympathetic to the natives taking over?

Were the Aadams Family the prospective buyers of the Oro Rubber Plantation? Where’s “Cousin It” and “Uncle Fester”?Simon Leach could have been Lurch’s spurned relative, now PO’d about his ruined plan. This gets more and more convoluted each day…..what about taking that Tantor slow ride to Ito on Mr. Mustache’s farm? I told you Tribemates, this plodding tale is going nowhere fast…….:)> VerySlow ElephantToItoAGowa!!
