Only in the comics can a man kill a full grownmale lion with his bare hands.

I’m sure the lion could have been reasoned with. Actually, Tarzan only needed to get the dead gazelle between him and the lion and then backed off. The lion would have lost interest in him because it was hungry. I know this because I own a cat and it’s what happens every time my dear, sweet kitty tries to take me down for its food.

Gotta be a better way to cook that gazelle, it’ll take all night like that. Or eat it raw, Penny would be real impressed about that.

Maybe you should have cleaned up a little. That dried lion’s blood on your chest and hands is a definite turn-off.

Give a gal gazelle meat & feed her for a day. Teach her to hunt, & feed her for a lifetime.

Edgar Rice Burroughs, the creator of Tarzan, portrays him as preferring his meat raw. Most Taran fan would know that.

There is a precedent for Tarzan’s feat – Hercules and the Nemean Lion, which, in greek mythology, was invulnerable to ordinary weapons.It was the first of Hercules 10 (or 12) Labors, to kill it, which he did by choking it to death with his ‘bare hands’. Tarzan’s death grip from yesterday looked rather more like a choking hold, than the sort of twist it would take ‘snap’ a lion’s neck.

Amusing sexist portrayal of women – very revealing of the times. Would anyone go on a long jungle trek, riding an elephant, wearing a dress? :-)
