Actually the leg of lamb version was a short story too.
“Lamb to the Slaughter,” by Roald Dahl…I read it in an anthology when I was a kid.
BTW, when I see Hitchcock mentioned here I smile, remembering how on Comics.com we had to type Hitchc0ck so the nannybot wouldn’t strike out the “dirty” word.
Some people even substituted the anatomical part, which WAS allowed, strangely, for the forbidden syllable.
