: D I think, if I saw cats like that, I would cough up some moolah for them… @MayKitten – wish you the best of luck with those little ones! @2old, but not really! – love the photos today (especially Jane Austen!)
Maykitten, bless you and your neighbor. Those kittens will get a good start in life now and you will find good homes for them all. Annie, you shouldn’t have brought the Troops along on your Fund Raising bid. LOL
You see who ISN’T there don’t you? Sweet Little Oliver. He doesn’t like to stir up trouble. Annie should have brought him, and only him, with her. With that sweet little face, she would have gotten millions, I bet.
Maykitten, I hope you have help with feeding 5 little bits! My youngest son and I bottle fed 2 little ones, and it was quite a chore, along with all the other duties that go along with it, if you know what I mean. Bathroom, etc. :-D
2 years ago, on Father’s Day, no less, I saw this little gray ball under my catalpa tree, at first I thought it was a baby possum until I got up close. Called my Vet who got right back to me, “What did you get yourself into now”? He asks me, LOL! So anyway, a week later under the same tree, was a little black and white bundle. I left it there to see if mom came back, Doc thought maybe she was just moving her kitties when I stumbled across Little Bit. Anyway, a torrential thunder storm hit, so I had to bring it in. So to shorten the story, Little Bit and Blackie are now permanent residents! And totally devoted to my son. We also have 3 other rescues, all with interesting tales to tell, but they were all a few months old when we got them. So now we have 3 females and the 2 Bros!
Oh yes, and the next year, Mom Cat had a litter IN THAT CATALPA tree, in one of the crevices. 2 died, my other son took the remaining one. She’s doing well also. He named her Prynne, from The Scarlet Letter.
Nice for the neighbor to know who would take them in, take care of them and love them. From your other posts, I know you have a lot to do in a day, so that is really generous of you. Good luck with the little kitties.
The cat lovers here have the biggest hearts. The people who comment here are the second reason this is my favorite strip. Annie and the cats are the #1 reason of course! Maykitten, God Bless you, and Dry, dont ever worry about being too wordy. You are both special in my eyes. Elf and Motorbelly, the work you do to feel strays is such an inspiration. You folks here are the best friends a cat could have! This was indeed an inspiring Sunday.
Maykitten, a special place in Heaven has been reserved just for you, It is for people who rescue unwanted pets. Like our big, dumb, but the sweetest boy ever, Max. He was a Silver Shadow who was born without stripes, so he was destined for a bucket of water when my daughter (who was visiting their daughter) said NO! we will take him home. He lived the life of Riley for 20 years!. The neighbohood kids used to dress him up in doll clothes and whenever anyone passed by with a toddler in a stroller, he would run down the driveway to greet and rub against the baby. Now I have tears in my own eyes! This strip brings together the nicest people!
