My cat, Suny, I take him for a walk every day on a leash when the sun sets and it’s cool in the evening. He knows the route so well that he actually walks me. He knows when to turn slightly to the left or the right and when to turn around to go back to the beginning of the walk. Because he is an indoor cat I do take him outside and walk him on the leash for his exercise. Also, I put a leash on him so that he does not run off and get hit by a car; basically, the leash is for his own safety. In fact, HE is the one that tells ME when to go for a walk in the evening when it cools down. He goes towards his leash and comes back to me. That’s telling me he wants the leash put on for his daily walk. At the end of his walk I reward him with some grass to eat. Grass is actually good for cats and dogs for their digestive system. There is a sense of love between the two of us. My neighbors love it when I walk Suny. They have taken pictures and videos and have sent it to Facebook and YouTube. One day when I have time and I can, I will post a picture of me and Suny taking our daily walk.
My friends did not tell me any keywords for putting Suny on YouTube. I should have asked them before they left town. I do have one neighbor that did put it on Facebook and she lives nearby. One day when I see her I will ask her a few more questions about that Facebook thing.
BBear: It’s photoshopped. The wings are off a Viceroy butterfly, a mimic of the Monarch (but yummier, hence the mimicry). A REAL cat would insist on being a Monarch. (The curved bar parallel to the edge of the rear wing is the cue.)
Wow…great pics and comments today! -————————Heat wave ends tomorrow here in northeast!!! Woo Hoo!!!!! Right, Paula? Looking forward to grandsons’ arrival tomorrow for a few days…thank goodness the horrible heat and, especially, the humidity, will be gone when we wake up Monday morning.
A vet once told me that it is okay to give your cat a bath once every 3 or 4 months. If you give a cat a bath very often what it does it wrinkles up their skin and mosquitoes are attracted to that wrinkled skin. I give him a bath with a chemical spray once in a while. Suny LOVES drinking water from the water tap. I will not give Suny a bath in water unless he absolutely has to have one.
