That’s how I feel when I see certain “reality” TV shows advertised. For example, there is “Burning Yule Log Knows Best”, “The Burning Yule Logs of Beverly Hills”, and finally, “Keeping Up With The Burning Yule Logs”. They all just mesh together at some point.

I’ve always wanted an open log fire… I love my Netflix four hour recording…

Why, you gotta be a really engaged TV viewer to know that channel only shows a burning log 24 hours a day! How else would you know, since my newspaper TV listings doesn’t list that channel’s hourly programs at all.

It’s got a nice beat. You can dance to it.

I remember… it started in the mid-60s in New York (WPIX probably, maybe WOR). Was it in other cities too?

No, but it does have a calming effect on me.

Burning yule log channel half the year and aquarium channel the other half. Almost as exciting as the paint drying channel all year long.

Bet he felt like an ash when hie figured it out.

Yet, it still is more interesting than ANY of the ‘REALITY’ shows.

Friendship you can’t buy it. Got to earn it and invest in it. Most people envy friendships like Brutus and Uncle Ted. It speaks volumes about caring and love and closeness. Many just don’t want to give the time and time is our most important gift we can give. And we are in the season of giving.

I relaxed on watched the Yule Log for about 10 minutes to catch that 10 second loop

It’s not you Uncle Ted. It’s the tripe being produced today that is touted as entertainment. You can get more pleasure from watching a burning log on TV than 80% of the stuff produced today. Get yourself a hot chocolate and cozy on up to the TV…..

We never had a TV channel with a burning log in the fireplace, but there was a DVD made up of crackling fires in the hearth. I used to imagine putting an old TV into the fireplace and a radiant heater on the floor below to simulate the full crackling fire experience. Hey, that’s not a bad idea. Maybe I’ll try it.

Reality shows don’t.

Uncle Ted is in a class all alone.

I have a DVD with “The Log”,it has Carols, music-wise. However I never got the DVD player hooked up to the current TV.

I found some video fire places streaming on Tubi!!! Also a Christmas light show.

Oh but it does.

Almost as bad is when you’re watching a program on the DVR, and find yourself sitting through commercials you could have speed searched through.

Way to go Uncle Ned, Brutus was planning on watching that video and now you spoiled the ending for him.

In fairness to Uncle Ted I watched most of the Beatles documentary Get Back (9 hours? 9,000?) wondering if anything was going to happen. And being a fan I knew the ending!

I never really sat and watched it, but I remember it from my younger days. It aired on WPIX-TV, channel 11 in New York. It ran for about three hours on Christmas Day, though I’m not sure of exactly what time of day — late evening, perhaps.

Locally (in the Atlanta area), WPCH (Peachtree TV) ran a Yule Log program with music on Christmas Day this year.

After 2 months of reruns due to Chip Sansom’s surgery, new daily Born Loser comic strips resumed today!

It added nothing to the ambient temperature of the room, either.
