I had a boss who thought $5 an hour bought you a great hard working dedicated employee. I told him we spend what he takes home weekly at the casino when we go. This was 20 years ago but it still wasn’t any kind of money when you considered Uncle Sam taking 1/4 of it than car expenses and rent.
he likes to mess with him, doesn’t he… well, maybe mess with him may not be the right words to use. but he still enjoys making him mad for his efforts. :j
My first reaction would be to say keep it. You need it more than l do. AND don’t expect free overtime from me ever again. However, first reactions are usually not wise to follow .Could be a test; the money might be included in a Christmas Bonus; or as management works without overtime pay, he may be up for that next promotion. Naaaaaaa. Just take the check and say, “Thank you sir, may l have another”…….

The chief would’ve given Brutus a dime but that would’ve meant digging deeper.

The work to print the check cost more than the amount.

Remember this from Christmas Vacation – "Mrs. Helen Shirley : You didn’t! Well, of all the cheap lousy ways to save a buck!
SWAT Commander : That’s pretty low, mister! If I had a rubber hose, I would beat you…".

Brutus might see the 11 cents as progress. What does he usually get for overtime?

It’ll cost more than that to process the check…

The sheet of paper is worth more than his pay. I’ll bet they withheld social security.

If it was the Kluck account, I’m guessing Brutus’ bonus was chicken feed.
