I’ve been retired for 4 years but I still have dreams about work! Nothing bad, but I guess after working there for 35 years it’s hard to wipe it from your mind.
The one thing about retirement for me is that it became a changing of careers and not a ceasing of a work life. What changed was the need to work for a paycheck. As such, I now get to teach parttime at a University that I really enjoy, though during my money making days, couldn’t sustain me financially. I actually enjoy working; having a purpose; having that sense of accomplishment. While I do agree that there is little happiness in doing a job, having a career, etc. that you do not enjoy or hate going to, there is nothing better than doing a job, work, etc. that you really enjoy. Actually, Heaven for me would be doing just that, work that I really enjoy, having that purpose, that sense of accomplishment all the time. There is still much more for me to do and Heaven will afford me those opportunities that I couldn’t do in this life. The dream doesn’t have to be big, just fulfilling and catnaps just might suffice…….

sometimes when I nod off, I find myself dreaming before I’m fully asleep. Then I snap out of it and say, “What was that about?”

They say the older you get, the less you sleep. It must be all those vivid dreams of my life keeping me awake.
