Using a nice protective case and holding the phone lightly, trying to keep some distance from your face, I’ve found it helps. At least, with my trusty Samsung Galaxy S5. Yes, I know, it’s old. It works, and it’s water resistant. That’s all that matters.
Just one of the reasons I’ll keep using a flip phone. But then I am one of those that uses a phone just to talk to people (and NEVER in a restaurant or other crowded public locations).
