I hated loading the dishwasher too. I’d load it, then my parents would come and unload it, then reload it “properly” in an almost identical way. And they’d explain it to me as they did it. “Pots go here.” “That’s where I HAD them.” “The handles have to face this direction.” “They WERE facing that direction.” “But you had the big pot at the back; the big pot has to go at the front.” “You told me it was the other way around last time; and the time before that, it was this way again.” “The glasses have to go on the top rack.” “They WERE on the top rack.” “But they can’t be touching.” “They WEREN’T touching.” “Just do it right!” “I DID!” “Go to your room.” “THAT’S WHERE I WAS WHEN YOU TOLD ME TO COME DOWN AND DO THIS!”

I can only imagine that Sarah delivers her lines with the timing of Joan Rivers.

The appropriate punishment for refusing to load the dishwasher is, “Very well. Just wash them by hand”.

With me as a parent it would be handwash the dishes or load, run and unload the dishwasher.

Score one for Greg. He would have had to load it anyway, but he got out of being punished for postponing it.

I didn’t particularly like doing my chores either but I did them, and didn’t complain, the food and a roof over my head were real nice!

What’s the big deal about loading the dishwasher? 2 minutes, tops. Good grief!
