Of the 5 strips I’ve seen (2 before the announcement) this is the first that isn’t mean. I read her after Mary Worth and Family Circus.. I did know women who read it, but I don’t understand women.
Actually, I don’t dislike “Cathy” at all. The truth is that it just isn’t meant for guys like me. It’s easy to forget just how pioneering that series was at the start. It was highly original for the time and inevitably imitated (occasionally surpassed, even) but it’s her right to want to find out how much more she can still create in other areas. I wish her success in whatever field she moves into.
“Cathy” continued the great tradition set forth by “Blondie” and the Charlie Brown visual jokes about the cactus and Spike, where everyday you find another way to tell the exact same punchline.

Why be upset? It’s not like Ms. Guisewite ever made any great “Learn to Draw” videos for us!

It was years of the same puns. At least Tom stumbles on to a new one every so often.
When they start reruns- how will we know?
Did she ever buy any clothes that fit?
So many questions…….
