I once worked in a sweat shop on the outskirts of tulsa and perspired all the time I was there except for a couple times I sweated. Did I ever tell you about the time I sold dilly bars at a dairy queen in tulsa? I liked working there because it was never hot and humid . anyway, to get to the point:

perspire and sweat are the same thing….a nice way to say you sweat is to say you perspire…eg : women perspire, men sweat…..

did I ever tell you about the time I used to teach a spanish bible study class to native americans in downtown tulsa? well, let me tell you all about that……..

Don’t know Joe from a bar of soap but he seems to be someone you all love to hate. jtpozenel Some weeks ago you said you would stop ridiculing Joe when people stopped standing up for him. Nobody seems to have stood up for him for some time. What happened to your statement? Looks like you are a very black pot.

If he had, we would have said “Yes!”

And bangalee, How could you have seen jtpozenel’s comment weeks ago without knowing Joe as well as the rest of us? And how could you have been reading this strip, and others at GoComics, without seeing the people sticking up for him. (And the many more, including some of the comic artists, saying they were relieved he was gone.)

I read Gocomics without commenting - not really qualified to comment on the work of artists. I just observe and take note. I don’t know Joe, never met him, has anyone else here met him? jtpozenel said weeks ago he would stop making derogatory remarks when people stopped standing up for this Joe person. They stopped weeks ago, jtpozonel hasn’t - period! Just sad to see The Flying McCoys has become a haven for feel-good hypocrites.

FishStix. Begging for comment, good or bad, asterisk you take! I feel I have to have some training in cartoons to comment, others can do as they please of course. Perhaps I should google Joe’s name and at least find something interesting to read. Apparently he was game enough to use his real name. Would anyone here care to leave theirs? Do you think a google on them would hold any interest? From what I have read, many have googled his name. What a feather in his cap, and remember, all anyone had to do was ignore his comments, but it seems few did. What a dream contact for an advertising agency! Now I see a man with color, not some wishywashy individual who nobody could be bothered googling. Oh, please, if you did not like what he said why did you google him instead of ignoring him?

I suppose somebody could Google my name.

About Joe: Up until now I can say I’ve never commented on him, good or bad. I read his postings, but nothing about them stood out enough to make me either attack or defend him. Mostly I’ve saved my venom for the DT comic, where it seems the artists have never even tried to get a handle on real police work before trying to do DT.

Seems Joe got one step ahead of us all and made a name for himself. Don’t know DT but perhaps whoever is responsible for it should consider whether an interest replaces a talent. Signing off. Apparently you’re standing up for him, while I never made mention of him. I guess you’re remarks are a green light for me to start?

Dang, it’s almost 9 PM Sat night and here I am defending JOE I loved the dude, He was such an easy target. At times I guess I went a LITTLE hard on him, and he would write 16 paragraphs telling me I was wrong, I should be deported, and if I only spent 5 or 6 hours a day reading the right Bible, I could be saved. Once called him a horses patootie, Lord the fireworks.

OK, then let’s look at it another way. The Flying McCoys is a brilliant strip and the facility we are all using is called ‘Comments’, which presumably means we can make comments on the strip. It is obvious from recent happenings that some certain person can no longer contribute but this strip is still being used to denigrate them. The very best that can be said about these remarks are that they are unnecessary and an abuse of the ‘Comments’ facility. Whether the victim’s name be Joe or Bill or Harry, or your own, derogatory remarks about someone who cannot reply, are detracting not only from this strip but all of Gocomics. Perhaps the denigraters should pause and think how they would feel if it was being done to them and then make sure they are perfect before getting another few moments with cheap feel-good remarks.

Again, please tell me what derogatory remark(s) I made on this page today ”bangalee”.

You seem determined to passionately defend someone who you don’t know “from a bar of soap”. Ridiculous!

It is becoming obvious that you are doing nothing but baiting other GoComics posters. When will you start flagging people and contacting the mediators? It is you who has blown this all out of proportion. Considering how short a time you have been “member”, it all seems pretty suspicious.

Said my bit, going to bed. I just want to read the Comments to further appreciate the humor and artistry in these comics, not to see someone being denigrated either directly, by implication or the applauding of someone else’s attempt to do so.
