First to say it here – fully left-handed people are the only ones in their right minds.

Also, most “left-handed” people are actually select-handed. And usually less decisive than fully left- or right-handers.

He’s correct. There is Left and there is wrong.

I have two grandnieces (they’re cousins) who are left handed.

As for me, I’m not left handed. I’m trying not to use the r word.

I hadn’t heard the term “select-handed”, but I guess that’s me. My strong hand is my right (throwing, hammering) and my left hand is fine (eating, writing). I took to typing and the computer as a righty (mouse, etc.) even though you could call that “fine.” Go figure. Scissors, too, though that may have just been self-defense.

Loaded terms at least since the Roman days. Dexterous is considered good, while sinister is bad.

My son showed left selection when an infant. We didn’t discourage the use of left hand, but did promote ambidexterity. He then selected right-handed before either got permanently wired in.

Left-handedness is one of my superpowers.

I’ve been a lefty all my life. A much larger than average presidents have been left handed.since records were kept we have had Truman,Ford,H.W. Bush,Clinton, Obama,And Reagan was ambidextrous, which usually means started as a lefty but was turned. and Hoover probably was ambidextrous too.Lefties are often good artists and I bet more cartoonists are lefties than in the general population, but I don’t know that as fact. Actually, I wish I had tried to become ambidextrous, it could be handy. It is a right brain/left brain issue.

I know Bill Mauldin was. After reading “Five Rings” (memoir), and that he was the only enlisted man in WW-II to be issued his personal jeep, I built a model of it, with Mauldin sitting on the front bumper, drawing, The jeep was highly modified with an armored floor (against land mines), Lancia sports car seats, a storage locker where the rear seats once were, Willy and his cartoon signature on the “license plate”, and I had to do minor changes to him, including the left hand and his trademark grin. 1/35 scale
