He must be a Golden Retriever! I got a call once for a dog being attacked by a skunk. The residents were not home, and the dog was tied out back. I came around and saw the skunk jumping up and biting the dog’s belly, and the dog was dancing all playful like he was having a grand time. I grabbed a shovel that was sitting there, and threw it at the skunk, then unhooked the dog and tried to make it out of the back yard. That skunk charged right at me, so I drew and fired, and killed it. Then I had to bag it up for testing. I gave the dog to my partner, and went to bag it up. Just as I pulled the bag closed, his stinker went off! I pitied the poor lab tech that had to test it. It was rabid. Because we handled the dog who had been bit, we had to get the rabies shots. Luckily the dog was up to date on his shots.
