er, actually, most of the plastic/trash you see along the shore does NOT come from ships off-shore. It comes from the storm drains when people litter on streets, highways, parking lots, etc.
Remember that the next time you see some clod dumping his/her car ashtray or leaving a soda can/bottle on the ground in a parking lot.
