Two weeks ago I had to drive five hours with one of my 16-1/2 year old dogs to get some surgery done on her. It was, shall we say, not cheap. My boss printed this comic out and gave it to me this morning. :-)
12 1/2 yrs. ago, we adopted a female from the pound, without knowing she was pregnant. 2 weeks later, we had 2 brothers and 2 sisters. We kept them all. We lost the mother in ‘07, and 3 of the “pups” in this past year, most recently in March (that would be “StelBel” in the photo to the left). Brother Quincy is still with us and going strong at over 12 yrs. old.
jtpozenel: I agree… My mother’s boyfriend told me of a time before his current dog when his previous pet would eat at the table with the humans with a bib…. The story horrified me… Don’t get me wrong, I love my pets (mostly cats), but I wouldn’t do that with them… It boggles the mind.

If you do the dog years to human years conversion, your dog should be eligible for Medicare.

Always amazes me how people will treat their dogs better than their own kids.
