I must say, I think the statement in itself is wrong.
How could it possibly be better to have loved and lost? OK if it would have said “better to have been loved”, but I for one would gladly be without the sensation of unanswered love if the price was only to never have felt anything in the first place…
I hope he gets over it, if you realize kind person she was. Its too bad alot real relationships don’t register problems ahead of time before they get hitched.
Man, I have been on both sides of that equation. And it IS a relief once it’s over. I don’t understand what the pink boomerang has to do with a broken heart, though.

It all depends on how it ends. A breakup is one thing, but at least you know the other person is okay. Death of a partner or spouse is much harder.
