Ha! I knew that “see your dentist twice a year” thing was a crock, granted I should probably go more often than once a decade.
This isn’t even true for me, because I abhor dental floss and try to avoid using it. My dentist hates me for it, but thus far it surprisingly hasn’t caused any lasting problems.
I just lie to the hygienist. Not sure she believes me.
