    Heh, good point.

    The environmentalists will hate me for this, but in regards to the ice caps, I think we’re already past the point of no return. Even if we were to somehow stop all pollution planet-wide right now (which would be pretty awesome, I’ll admit, because pollution’s bad), the ice caps will never be restored back to the same way they were before. And anyway, it’s not like Earth has always had ice caps anyway; they come and go as the planet-wide climate naturally rises and falls, the geologic records have made that abundantly clear. They were never a permanent feature of the Earth, and I get a little miffed that people forget that sometimes.

    In short I’m of the opinion that the ice caps probably would’ve melted one day anyway whether we liked it or not. Yeah, it’ll probably inconvenience some coastal peoples and the polar bears will have nowhere to live, but it happens. We can’t really save it all, y’know?
