The problem with most fruitcakes, particularly the commercially baked ones, is citron. My family has a recipe that almost everyone loves. (The exception is one of my brothers, who doesn’t like nuts.) Lots of nuts and candied fruits with a yummy banana bread holding everything together.

All fruitcake comes from the original fruitcake first baked in 1573. No one ever wants it, and nothing can kill it…
