All this time I thought “gravitons” were waves…not particles.

Fun fact: whenever you stand up, your feet age slower than your head.

It’s all very simple. The mechanisms are very basic and very stable. Particles are formed by equal pressure from external sources. Each particle has a rate of interaction based on the energy it receives. In the shadow of mass, it receives less energy, so its processes slow, which looks like time being stretched or dilated. Similarly, at relativistic speeds, energy interaction is diminished because of the limiting factor of light speed, which makes energy to the fore unable to interact due to frequency shifting, once again elongating the frequency of processes, emulating an elongation of time. It’s about the same as refrigeration, but at a quantum level rather than a chemical one.

Maybe there’s more friction in more gravity. That would slow things down.

    It’s all relative.
