It’s only cracked if your expectations are too high.
As a young man I wanted a phonograph - one of those electric kind, not a wind up model. I didn’t know what air conditioning was, or what a TV was. Hay, I could dial phone numbers on those rotary dial telephones though.
Even though a country has a defeats and loses it’s place as number one to, let’s say, China, it doesn’t have to vanish from the maps.
England doesn’t have it’s colonies right now, it isn’t exactly a third world country. Even Japan and Germany survived their defeats in a generation (and learned from it)
The pessimists may see it as cracked and hopeless. But maybe it’s hatching out to an entirely new potential. We can all be like Rush and decide that the whole country is in ruin and is doomed, or we can get up and try again in the next round.
My father taught me “A success is a man who gets up one more time than he’s knocked down.” He was a success.
The American Dream was given away as tax cuts to the rich and loans from the Communist Chinese.
Your American Dream sits filibustered in the Senate by Republicans.
Your American Dream is in some millionaire’s Swiss bank account.
Eight years of Republicans killed your American Dream.
Want them to do it again?

Chill, people. The US has survived a bitter civil war, the Great Depression, and more than a handful other crises. Eventually, this one will pass too.
To quote one of my favourite phrases: “Endure. In enduring, grow strong.”

Survival of the fittest. I’m not sure the people are the fittest anymore. Stupidest, maybe, but not the fittest.

This, thanks to your bloated and arrogant Federal Government.
